Waves of Change is a joint project by Håll Sverige Rent (Keep Sweden Tidy) and Hand in Hand. The project combines fighting poverty with environmental stewardship. The common vision is a future with oceans free from plastic waste. The project is being implemented thanks to a contribution of 22.9 million SEK from the Swedish Postcode Lottery’s “Dream Fund”.
The Baringo Honey Value Chains project is being carried out during 2020-2022. The aim of the project is to provide small-scale farmers in Baringo, Kenya with training in sustainable agricultural methods. It focuses on beekeeping and honey production as well as supporting farmer-owned co-ops to strengthen their market position.
Every second woman in Rajasthan, India is illiterate. Maternal mortality is high, child marriage is common, and the dated tradition of dowries is still observed. Women’s participation in the economy is low. The Rise up Women project is a concrete example of how strengthening women’s economic independence contributes to breaking the poverty trap.
